Writing the Memoir: Long Labor Before Birth
Some writers write their memoirs quickly. I’m not one of those, and many other memoirists struggle to get their story on the page and move forward with revision and publication. The more we learn, the more we need to know about how to write an engaging narrative focused on a thread of our lives. If I knew then—when I began this labor—what I know now, writing my memoir would have been much easier, but that’s life and learning for you.
